How to report a stolen phone in Canada
Four steps to take right away.
1. Report it to police
Contact your local police service and get a report number. Call 911 if anyone is in danger.
2. Ask your carrier to blacklist the phone
Canadian carriers can block a reported lost or stolen phone by IMEI so it will not work on participating Canadian networks. Have your IMEI ready.
3. Lock and erase
Use Find My or Find My Device to mark the phone lost and erase it remotely if needed.
4. Check before buying
Buyers can check a phone's status with the industry Device Check service, and search this registry for owner reports with contact details.
